Follow the legend of Dracula on this half day excursion outside Bucharest. You will be picked up from your hotel and have a short introduction into the history of Bucharest at the ruins of the old Princely Court and Church. This is the place where Vlad was ruling Wallachia in the 5th century. This will be followed by a trip to Snagov Monastery, the next stop on this tour. It is situated on an island accessible by a foot bridge. Here is situated the supposed burial place of Vlad Tepes, better known as Dracula after the 19th century's book written by Bram Stoker. Snagov Lake is situated about 30 km from Bucharest. The Snagov Monastery is said to be the place where they sent the headless corpse of Vlad Tepes (Dracula) after he was assassinated. An excavation of 1931 reportedly found an empty grave, while some accounts tell of the exhumation of a richly dressed decapitated body. The frescoes and paintings surrounding the tomb make it a great site worth to be seen and a must visit for Dracula fans.
