| On this full day tour from Bucharest your guide will take you to Sinaia, Bran and Brasov to see the culture of Transylvania and Walachia. After a two-hour drive you will arrive at Sinaia and visit the monastery built in the 17th century by Mihail Cantacuzino, a ruling prince of Walachia, after his pilgrimage to Mount Sinai in Egypt. Next stop is Peles Castle, one of the most important museums in Romania where one can admire the beautiful architecture of the Castle, as well as the furniture and ornamental objects, carpets, tapestry, sculptures, paintings and rich collections of weapons of the 15th-19th centuries. Then your journey will continue to Bran to visit the famous Bran Castle (related to Dracula's legend). The Castle had a strategic mission being on the border between Transylvania and Walachia. It was governed by the King of Hungary Sigismund of Luxembourg, the Romanian Voievodes Mircea cel Batran and eventually Vlad Tepes (Dracula). The castle got its fame from Dracula's legend written in 1897 by Bram Stoker and later on made into a film by Francis Ford Coppola. After the tour of the castle, visit the medieval centre of Brasov with the impressive Black Church, the largest church in Europe between Vienna and Istanbul. After 3 hours drive you will be back to your hotel in Bucharest. |

| Peles Castle is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so on these days you will only be able to view it from the outside. Black Church is closed on Sundays and will be outside view only on that day. Due to shorter opening times in winter, Black Church is outside view only from 1st November until 30th April. Black church may also be closed to tourists without advance warning for baptisms, weddings and other religious events. |
